Libby Finds Vegan Sanctuary – Book Review

Libby Finds Vegan Sanctuary

Libby Finds Vegan Sanctuary written and illustrated by Julia Feliz Brueck, is a sweet short story based on a true event for ages 4 and under. The book is thoughtfully made out of paperboard to withstand baby and toddler use. Written in appropriately short simple sentences that young minds can grasp, there is just a sprinkling of bigger words like sanctuary that parents can use as an educational opportunity, while introducing tots to the idea of compassion for animals.

The main character Libby the turkey goes through the steps and stages of being seen as food and eventually a feathery friend by her unwitting human guardians who fall in love with her as someone, not something. The illustrations are full with sweet smiley scenes of Libby interacting with her human family and with her new sanctuary friends which is sure to engage the attention of young minds.

Books like these give hope of a very bright future full of compassionate young people.

Available on Amazon in hardcover and for Kindle.
